We are the Writers Circle at Sun City Palm Desert.

The Writers Circle was formed nearly fifteen years ago by several SCPD writers to help promote and support the craft of writing. We welcome beginner writers, as well as published authors and others who are committed to increasing their writing skills. 

We encourage all genres: fiction, non-fiction, memoirs and poetry. 

Many of our members have published their books, and those members in good standing are entitled to sell them at Sun City’s Arts & Craft Fairs every March and November.

We offer our members the following opportunities to enhance their skills: 

 

   Fiction and non-fiction writing classes 

  Poetry Classes 

  Critique groups 

  Guest Speakers 

  A writing contest each spring 

  Experts who can assist with editing, formatting and publishing your finished works 

 

We meet the first Wednesday of every month – October thru May – in the Sunset View Clubhouse, Canyon Room from 2 – 4 p.m. There is a door prize each week.

Come and join us each month and listen to guest speakers, talk about your work in progress, have samples of your work critiqued and ask the questions you need to have answered so you can write that book, memoir or poem you’ve always wanted.

OUR NEXT MEETING IS MAY 1, 2019 

There will be a discussion on how to use YouTube for research, create your own YouTube Channel, and how to self-publish in order and promote your work. A lively question and answer time is encouraged. Make us your last stop before heading off to cooler climes.
